Angels and Aliens: Gnosticism and Archons.

Recently, I have been reading Not in His Image by John Lamb Lash, a book about Gnosticism, the origins of Christianity, and how we have all been fooled by some alien entities known as Archons. Lash is a prolific writer on all things Gnostic and, apart from the book, his website metahistory.org is full of lots of stuff a truth-seeker might find interesting.
What I found fascinating is that a number of scrolls found at Nag Hammadi, Egypt, between 1945-47, date to the 1st and 2nd century and are Gnostic texts and, while they are in the Christian vernacular, they read like science fiction.
The Gnostics, a group of Shaman dating back to the pre-Christian era, posited that this world we find ourselves in was created in error and that the Old Testament God is a Demiurge, not a creator. He/is was/is a low level alien imposter known as an Archon who convinced himself and us that he was/is God.
After fashioning our universe he/they/it moulded the human form but without success because they couldn’t create anything, because they hadn’t originated in the Pleroma (the Godhead). At this point the higher ‘God/s” residing in the Pleroma intervened to rectify the error and in doing so infused the lifeless human/s with the divine spark (soul), which made us superior to our original maker, in that we became part of the Godhead, and therefore immortal, providing we find the divine spark which is within us (the kingdom of God) which we all eventually will.
The Archons cannot kill us (though maybe they can destroy our bodies) but they can and do deceive us into thinking we have no divine spark, in a bid to hide our true nature.
In the 21st century we read about alien entities intruding in our lives and alien abduction stories appear to be moving from the fringe into the mainstream. Could the Gnostic seers have been describing 2000 years ago what many abductees/experiencers claim to experience today?
Here is a passage from The First Apocalypse of James (NHC V, 3), (found at Nag Hammadi) a revelation dialogue in which an unnamed teacher (the “Lord” or “Master”) confers secret knowledge upon a Gnostic named James:
The Master said: James, behold, I shall reveal to you the path of your redemption. Whenever you are seized and you undergo death-pangs (mortal fear), a multitude of Archons may turn on you, thinking they can capture you. And in particular, three of them will seize you, those who pose as toll collectors. Not only do they demand toll, but they take away souls by theft.
Now, when you come under their power, one of them who is the overseer will say to you: “Who are you, and where are you from?”
You are then to say to him, “I am a child of humanity and I am from the Source.”
He will then say to you, “What sort of child are you, and to what Source do you belong?”
You are to say to him, “I am from the pre-existent Source, and I am the offspring of the Source.”
Then he will say to you, “Why were you sent out from the Source?”
Then you are to say to him, “I came from the Pre-existent One so that I might behold those of my kind and those who are alien.”
And he will say to you, “What are these alien beings?”
You are to say to him: “They are not entirely alien, for they are from the Fallen Sophia (Achamoth), the female divinity who produced them when she brought the human race down from the Source, the realm of the Pre-Existent One. So they are not entirely alien, but they are our kin. They are indeed so because she who is their matrix, Sophia Achamoth, is from the Source. At the same time they are alien because Sophia did not combine with her like in the Source (her divine male counterpart), when she produced them.”
When he also says to you, “Where will you go now?”
You are to say to him, “To the place when I came, the Source, there shall I return.” And if you respond in this manner, you will escape their attacks.

I am by no means an expert in alien abductions or Gnosticism but I do find the two subjects interesting, and I wonder if the two subjects are really just one subject?
