Stafford Betty   Stafford Betty

Stafford Betty earned his PhD in theology from Fordham University, where he specialized in Asian religious thought and Sanskrit. Today he is a professor of world religions at California State University, Bakersfield, and has evolved as one of the world's most acclaimed experts on the afterlife.

In 2011 he published The Afterlife Unveiled, which has emerged as a classic in the field. Another of his recent books, The Imprisoned Splendor, is a novel set in the afterlife. All told, he has published eight books, most recently Heaven and Hell Unveiled: Updates from the World of Spirit, published by White Crow, and dozens of articles and essays on a wide variety of subjects.

Betty’s earlier publications focused on the philosophy of religion and are available on the Academia.edu website. He has travelled to India four times, most recently in 2010 to deliver the keynote address at a convocation of Vedantins in Udupi. He blogs for the Huffington Post and White Crow Books in an attempt to reach non-specialists. He writes and speaks with uncommon clarity and regularly addresses conference and radio audiences.
